You can make a special girl’s unicorn dreams come true – or pegasus, or winged unicorn!
After cutting these adorable gift boxes with an SVG cutting machine, they can be party decorations, or even a cake topper.

You can stuff these party favors with sweets or treats, then give them to your guests to thank them for coming to your party, and then they keep them as a souvenir of your special event.

Paper Mushroom Party Favor Gift Box - SVG File for cutting with Cricut Explore or Silhouette Machine

Paper Mushroom Party Favor Gift Box - SVG File

A friend of mine loves mushrooms and every time we go for a hike, we’re on the lookout for them along the trails.

So I made this box for her and put a gift card inside, along with some chocolates and a lip balm for super sunny days. Afterwards, she can use it to store paper clips and keep it to decorate her office desk.

It was so fun to personalize the stem with a gnome, a door, a window and grass. The gnome is layered, so his beard and moustache really look dimensional!

Of course, a single mushroom can get lonely, so I gave it a little friend. It's not big enough to put a gift card inside, but it's so sweet to see a mini-me on a desk, and it can hold items like paper clips. It's reduced 75% of the larger mushroom, but of course, when you have a cutter, you can ask it to make anything as small as you like.

What's a gift without a heartfelt message? When they peek under the roof, they'll see your writing there.

It's a good size and fits in your hand quite comfortably.

It took me quite a few tries to make this fun fungi, and my room was a forest of shrooms when I finally got the tabs just right. For me, it's a fevered quest that gets more frenzied the closer I get to knowing I'm almost there, but not quite.

You can watch the trailer here, and the SVG file is available in my shop.

Bride and Groom Party Favor Boxes on CTV!

http://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=543805

I was so excited to have my bride and groom wedding party favor boxes be shown on CTV (a local TV station) wedding segment for local Etsy sellers. Unfortunately, they ran out of time to showcase it in detail.

Here's a closer shot - can you see them?

...and as you can see, they just missed being in the frame. Oh well, it was still nice to have my designs on TV! You can catch the full video here: http://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=543805

Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin Party Favor Box

Who has their carving tools ready? It's still a bit early to start digging in for Halloween, but this Jack O' Lantern doesn't need any gutting.

His perky stem comes with spiralling vines for extra fun.

There are three friendly faces to choose from, and when cut from yellow paper, appear to have an inner candlelit glow.

The pumpkin itself offers a decent size for ghoulish treats. It's easily cut from just two sheets of 8.5"x11" in green and orange, attached simply by two orange brads. So fun to assemble with little ones. It's now available in my shop.

Snail Party Favor Gift Box

I'm having way too much fun with these box ideas right now - I can't seem to stop the ideas. Here's my latest, a snail box, complete with slime trail too!

This idea came to me when I bought my first ever box of brads by Recollections, called Metallic Mini Circles. The gold one came tumbling out and boom! I thought of shells.

Even though I rounded the antennae up for the ladybug box, I found it didn't really add much nuance to the box. In the case of the snail though, the added googly eyes really makes it!

I really wanted to capture the spiral of a snail's shell. It seems so simple and obvious that all it took was inserting the brad into each flap – quite fun to make them come together.

And one last detail that just could not be overlooked - a trail of slime, made of clear plastic.

It's a good hand size for storing treats for your guests. The Snail Box is now listed in my shop.

Turtle Party Favor Gift Box

After making the ladybug box, it just seemed logical to make this turtle box, complete with accented mole. I think my nephews would prefer making this guy, as the ladybug is likely too girly for them.

Printable Easter Bunny Rabbit Party Favor Treat Box

Hippity-hop! I had so much fun designing this bunny box for treats. After making the first one, of course they bred like rabbits into a set of 5 colors.

It's a printable design that fits on a single page and can be hand cut and assembled.

There is a spot on the back to type in your own message into the PDF file. Notice the fluffy tail? It's made the same way I made the Easter Egg Spaceship. It's easier if you have a circle punch.

All that's left is filling it up with your sweet treats! It's stuff like this that makes me feel like a kid again! The bunnies can be found in my Etsy shop.

Halloween Owl Box (printable and editable PDF)

I've been thrilled with the feedback on my various Halloween party favor boxes and wondered how my owl would fare as a gift box for fright-night.

I found some fun tricks (glow in the dark bat, tattoos, erasers, and springing toy) at Walmart and it wouldn't all fit in my other boxes, but they fit just fine in this one with room to spare.

Just like my previous owl box, you can type whatever you like on the back of this editable PDF. It's now available in my Etsy store - thanks so much for looking!

I created this owl box for readers who don't have a digital cutter because I had requests for it after my first ATC card. However the tiny cuts are quite challenging to do by hand, so this box is a compromise. Happy haunting, everyone!

FREE Printable Snowflake and Candy Cane Party Favor Treat Box

I'm thrilled about the response I've been receiving from my free Halloween Ghost Party Favor pattern so of course I had to follow it up with a Christmas version! In this case, two patterns!

I'll repeat the steps here so you don't have to go back and forth:

1) After printing the file in color, you will need also need scissors, 1/8" hole punch, double-sided tape, and about 6 inches of 1/8" width ribbon.

2) Flip over the sheet (left to right). Place double-sided tape along the left edge and along the top right as shown by the arrows. Remove a small portion of the wax along the left and fold it down (do not remove all the wax yet).

3) Keeping your fingers on the waxed portion, roll the sheet into a tube, overlapping the gray diagonal lines. When it's aligned and straight, press the exposed adhesive. Gently pull more wax off, then press to adhere. Repeat until you have a completed tube.

4) Remove all the wax from the end of the tube.

5) Guided by the small gray line, pinch the top end closed.

6) Guided by the two small gray lines at the bottom end, pinch closed, then fold the end over toward the back. Unfold and fill with treats.

7) Punch a hole in the bottom middle. Fold your ribbon in half and thread it through partway. Take the ribbon ends and thread it through the folded ribbon, then pull until taut.

8) You're ready for a merry party!

I also  have 4 more patterns (elf, Santa, Frosty, and tree) in my shop.

Printable Owl Party Favor Box

Earlier this year I made an owl for a meet up group and enjoyed the enthusiasm that followed. I realize not everyone has a digital die cutter, so I kept it in the back of my mind to make a hand cuttable version that more could enjoy making themselves.

I love how a simple curve makes a classic pillow box puff out and knew I wanted to make that to form the ears, but wanted to make a flat bottom for stability. The stash can be accessed either from the top or bottom.

The simple wings gently curled, then glued to the shoulders and everything prints on a sheet of 8.5x11 inch 65lb card stock.

Of course, the ultimate party favor is one that is customizable. There's lots of space on the back for that and it'll show up purple and in this whimsical font.

I prefer using a dried up pen for scoring because I enjoy the precise ball bearing rolling along my surface, creating a fine line. I also prefer double-sided tape over glue because it's quick to set the tab, but I'll use the glue stick when adhering the wings so I can still adjust as I go.

I hope this printable owl gives you a hoot! You can find it my shop.

No Peeking! Boxes

My nephews are old enough now to want gift cards, but young enough to still be curious about what's under the tree, so I designed a pillow box glued shut with a tear strip so they can "Let 'er rip!" on Xmas day. The handles separate so you can still add it last minute to wrapped box or easily hang it off the xmas tree branch.

I also designed my version of the perfect paper bow – never crushed, always centered, with just the right amount of tilt to the double loops, and no glue needed (my ode to origami masters) – and of course it's all one piece of paper. The box is also glued shut using the "ribbon" which is perforated for easy tearing. Stardream, Mars Red Metallic, 81# Text was used for this bow.

I'm selling these die cut patterns on Etsy along with two bonus gift tags that go with them. I've also had the great pleasure to meet a diverse group of skilled cutting crafters on http://forum.make-the-cut.com who have happily helped me test out my files on cutters other than my dear Silhouette. I'll be following up with a post of their comments and what papers they've used.

Animal Gift Boxes / Party Favors

I have wanted to make these party favors since laying hands on my Silhouette die cutter, as I've always been into boxes. After quite the learning curve, I've finally posted my patterns on Etsy. I've made 5 different animals, perfect for a baby shower or a jungle themed birthday. Thanks for looking!
