Quilling leaves is quite easy to do, and you don't need a pattern. In this tutorial, I show how to make two different types of leaves with a variegated color center, using very simple softening techniques.
When you're first starting quilling, using different colors can be daunting. So I always suggest adding a complementary color or a different shade. This is a great example of doing just that.
I've used a soft pink and a dark red for my monogram. The pink is picked up with the card background, and since there isn't any dark red, I've added a simple border all around. There's a simple trick to make those corners meet up perfectly.
Want to start quilling the letters of the alphabet to make a monogram project? Simply lay your strip on top of my pattern, score, cut, and fold where indicated.
